Recount writing

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

• We are learning to write a recount.
• We will learn about what needs to be included in a recount.
• We are going to learn about the type of language that is used.

HOW WILL YOU DO IT?

• You will choose they way in which you want to present your recount. Look at the classroom display for some of the ways. What ICT tools could you use to produce this?
• This is an individual task, although you can ask people to help you with the presenting aspect.

QUICK GUIDE TO RECOUNTS
WHAT WE HAVE DONE

• Brainstorm whole camp.
• Pick two events, brainstorm these with more depth.

Check your rubric every day to see what you need to do to get the best marks.

Do a brainstorm for:

• Introduction
• 1, 2, 3 (Miss Latto will decide this) favourite activity
• Conclusion
• Most memorable moment at camp.
• Title – Make it great.

Write recount.

• Use your brainstorm to now write the section that you need to write. Using the brainstorm will help you make sure you have put into your recount everything that you want to say.

Edit recount.

• What needs to be changed in your recount to make it get the best possible mark?
• Check your rubric criteria here, are you using the language needed.
• Have you included all the requirements etc…

Proofread recount.

• After you are happy with all the language used etc… make sure it has paragraphs, correct spelling, correct grammar etc…..

Presentation

• Present your recount in the form you choose.
